The Center of Excellence for VAP<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0use in aviation applications is a community of specialized companies offering core competencies along the component production chain in the areas of engineering, project planning, aviation-qualified\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-GB\">patented\u00a0<\/span>VAP<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0membrane systems and further materials, process introduction, production support, contract manufacturing and component qualification. The Center of Excellence is thus able to provide international customers a raft of end-to-end services and aids for all areas of VAP<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0implementation and product realization.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_large\"><div class=\"l-section-overlay\" style=\"background:#f5f5f5\"><\/div><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_grid cols_2-1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h2>VAP<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0technology for european satellite mission<\/h2>\n<p>As of 2021, the MetOp Second Generation A Satellite Mission will be measuring trace gases, ozone and aerosol in the earth&#8217;s atmosphere, thus contributing to continuous air quality monitoring in particular. In the context of the European Copernicus Programme, the satellite mission will be expanding our planet&#8217;s extensive climate records in this way. Under contract to the European Space Agency, Airbus Defence &amp; Space GmbH develops and produces carbon fibre-reinforced components for the Sentinel 5 instrument involved, using Trans-Textile&#8217;s aerospace-qualified patented VAP<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0membrane system in the process. Working in cooperation with\u00a0<a title=\"Leichtbau Zentrum Sachsen\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lzs-dd.de\/de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leichtbau-Zentrum Sachsen GmbH<\/a>, the company devised an innovative floor structure for the new Airbus A350XWB in an ambitious development period of a mere two years. As it reports, the vacuum assisted process VAP<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0not only enabled automation of various process steps but also delivered significant mould-making flexibility, thus smoothing the way further for scaling up production of the part to the industrial level. Stringers and skin are injected in one single shot. This geometrically complex structural component is located in a highly stressed area of the fuselage and therefore exposed to high physical loads.
